This post was written as a letter to the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette in response to a letter declaring that the Biden Administration will give us a chance to get back to "doing good."

“Doing Good” is not done by governments, it’s done by neighbors…fellow Americans.  Donald Trump has shined a light on the deep-seated, criminal, evil infection from which our country has been suffering.  In answer to Phyllis Martoni Friend, “Americans need to heal and ‘do good’ again”, this country has a serious infection of Liberalism/Progressivism.  It’s hard work to evaluate both sides of the argument and many are not willing to honestly try.  As long as people refuse to see “good” and acknowledge facts, and make choices based on emotion and the party line, the healing will never come.

If Trump has alienated our allies, it was in the best interest of America.  No other country can compete with our generosity and support.  For generations, we have provided taxpayer money, yours and mine, to countries who gleefully take it, while burning our flag and criticizing our model of government.  Our allies may be unhappy paying more for their fair share, but they will stand by us, because we are still their best defense against threats from their enemies. If the allies are so unhappy with Trump, who nominated him for four (4) Nobel Peace Prizes?

Exactly what Trump policies have been detrimental to our great country?  He has donated his entire salary as President.  He has “done good” for Black Americans, Latino Americans, and Middle-Class Americans. He has brought back opportunities for children trapped in failing schools, supporting patriotism and love of country.  Raising children who hate our country is not “doing good”.  Bowing to the Teacher’s Union, Biden has promised to end School Choice.  Is that “doing good.”  Kamala Harris “made the case that some non-violent offenders needed to stay incarcerated or else the prison system would lose a source of cheap labor.”  Is that “doing good?”  Joe Biden has openly admitted his Crime Bill, hurting black Americans, was a mistake.  Is that “doing good?”  Biden is the one who has been enriching himself and his family at our expense over the last 47 years.  These two are the least likely to be trustworthy, decent and truthful.

Finally, James Madison said that if people were angels, we would have no use for law. Fortunately, the men who composed the Constitution accounted for this defect in humanity and it is precisely why the Democrats want to pack the Supreme Court.  If you can’t win honestly, compromise the court system.

No matter who wins the 2020 election, our country has been irrevocable damaged by the divisive rhetoric, hateful language, and violence of the Left.  Conservatives will continue to love our God, love our families, and love our country.  We will continue to help those less fortunate, while the Liberal Left will continue to hate everything that has allowed them the freedom and opportunity to do so.
